 | Social Impact & Special Achievements | | | Zotter is a very innovative and dynamic family enterprise in the Austrian Province of Steiermark, which produces high-quality chocolate. All the cocoa purchased and most of the other products used for chocolate production are certified organic and fair trade. Besides purchasing cocoa on the market, Zotter has started to build up its own direct cocoa supply programme in South America. Among other sources, the company purchases Fair for Life certified cocoa from Brazil. Smallhoder producers organised in a cooperative are supported directly by the company, not only through the FairTrade Premium but also through support in improving product quality and by enhancing the chances of international market access for these smallholder producers. |
