Social Impact
Social Impact & Special AchievementsInterrupcion Fairtrade is working with this medium scale organic farm to provide them with direct market access and provide the means for further social development and workers welfare. Edgardo Costanzi grants all workers the relatively high labour standards as required by law, which is not very common in the Argentinan agriculture sector where more than 40% of workers work at conditions way below legal minmum wages and benefits. As an early promoter of organic farming, the farm is dedicated to sustainable development and workers welfare and sees Fairtrade as a further tool to improve the overall living conditions of its workers. The farm has an open attitude towards workers’ assemblies and workers role in premium use decisions.
